When the application is complete, including income verifications, then we determine the eligibility and amount of assistance to be granted. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale, which takes into account the family size. Payment rates will ensure equal access to CCDF Families.

All eligible Indian Children must be under the age of 13 and reside with the family whose income doesn't exceed 75% of the median income for a family of the same size on the scale and whose parent (s) are working or attending a job training program.

Child care services are given to families with very low income, taking family size into account, and to children with “Special Needs,” including Child Protective Service cases.

Child Care Assistance for children under the age of 19, will be provided if such children are physically and/or mentally incapable of self-care, or under court supervision.

KTC has established a policy whereby eligible Indian families engaged in traditional subsistence hunting and gathering activities shall be considered “employed” and eligible for child care assistance.

Examples:

At the bottom is the sliding fee scale that we use to determine what rate we can fund you at.

  • · A family of 4 with an income of $1,367.00 a month can be funded at 97%.

  • · A family of 6 with an income of $3,900.00 can be funded at 75%.

Here is a example of why you might not be funded.

  • · A family of 3 with an income of      $3,506.00 would be funded at 0%.

How we figure these percentages is, taking  your gross income for the last 30 days, adding them together, find your total income the sliding fee scale, and that is the percent at which we can fund you. Every month you will need to submit your pay stubs, for verification of income.
